From pigs to humans

“Why have you treated me so badly? Do you have any idea what you’ve put me through?”

“You know what – consider yourself lucky. Guys like me don’t even care a fraction of how much I do. You should be grateful I wasn’t as much of a pig with you.”

What would you say to this conversation? Does being in love with someone justify putting up with their rotten behavior because their performance is “above average”?

Does a loving relationship deserve to be sized up against how the average “relationship” is? Does being better than a pig make someone human?

For a person who loves a man like that, maybe this is acceptable. But I think anyone who tells you he/she is a good person and justified in his actions cz “there’s worse things that happen” are just weak and inferior in character. They cannot raise their existence, hence they lower your standards.
